Cape Paterson Residents & Ratepayers Association

cp1 star 100For the past few years, the CPRRA has been securing government grants to improve the Foreshore Reserve around the Wonthaggi Life Saving Club (WLSC) - see star on image on the right.

The objectives of these projects may be summarised as follows:

  1. Rehabilitate and revegetate the small creek that runs down beside the WLSC clubhouse and, in particular, stop the creek from overflowing into the club area when it rains hard.
  2. Take down the large pine trees which have dominated the area - these are not native to Cape and prevent the native vegetation from growing underneath them because of the oils they release into the soil.
  3. Plant an appropriate variety of native species to beautify the area and, critically, provide food and cover for native birds and animals and so encourage their return to the area.

Details of all projects can be seen via the projects listed in the Main Menu on the left.
